Anggi is now lying weak at Al-Islam Hospital due to a decrease in consciousness. The 26-year-old woman initially complained of swollen and painful gums 4 days before her admittance to the hospital. Within 4 days, her condition quickly worsened and new symptoms emerged to include constipations and a terrible headache. When her family brought her to the hospital, doctors diagnosed her with Space Occupying Lesion (SOL) caused by tuberculoma, with a differential diagnosis of brain abscess.
SOL is a general term for intra-cranial lesions. Among its common causes are tuberculoma, which is a chronic complication caused by tuberculosis infection, and brain abscess, as in Anggi's case. If not handled promptly and well, this condition will cause weakness in the limbs as well as weakened consciousness. Doctors advised that she be admitted to the High Care Unit (HCU) for intensive care. Anggi's mother works as a snack peddler and Anggi was the financial backbone of her family -- now with her admittance to the hospital and the consequent loss of their family's source of income, they are unable to pay for her medical care, which amounts to IDR 14 million.
Let us lend a hand to Anggi so that she can obtain proper medical care and recover fully!
